I found a creeping plant in the mountains yesterday – it had white berries. I’m thinking snowberry, but I’m not sure.

    I could’ve picked maybe a pint’s worth, but I didn’t have bags (woops).

Does anybody have experience with them?

It was likely the Creeping Snowberry (Symphoricarpus mollis). It grows between 3,500 and 8,000 feet. I haven’t tasted the berries, but have read they are edible raw or cooked in small amounts but don’t have a lot of flavor. The roots were used to treat colds.

Interesting. I’ve found more, and have put them on my tongue – they have a nice, sweet flavor, but yeah, not very strong.
