    2 cups sugar
    2 cups water
2 cups roughly chopped spruce tips or douglas fir tips

Bring all items to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Once syrup begins to thicken, turn off the heat and let syrup cool completely. Place in a clean, sterilized pint jar and store in refrigerator until use.

This syrup tastes great mixed with gin & sparkling water, over ice-cream, used to sweeten beverages, and could be used on waffles and french toast.
